We’ve always been attracted to a diamond in the rough. When we toured the house, it just seemed right. For some crazy reason it seemed doable even though half the bathrooms didn’t work, there were trees growing out of the gutters and a possum living in the attic. It was really exciting the first night when we woke up the next morning to a brisk 45 degrees, inside the house, in January. 

Oh my, what have we done.

That was over 5 years ago, and while we’ve basically flipped this house upside down, all we see is what we want to do next. Whenever someone asks if we’re almost done renovating, we just laugh. (If you have a house that’s over a century old, you can relate.)

So why the website? Consider this a journal for ourselves in what we’ve accomplished and the new things we’ve come to enjoy. When we first moved in, a neighbor who happens to be an architect said “Your house is going to change the way you live.” She was most certainly right.
